Peter Hermann is a German bass player, composer and producer. He is the founder of many bands and projects throughout Europe and Africa.

On his main instrument, the bass guitar, he uses playing and articulation techniques that turn the bass into a solo instrument, and his fingerstyle bass playing can sound like a Latin percussion group. His guitar-like chord playing and use of harmonics widen its sonic range. With only 4 or 5 strings, a solo piece can sound like a three-piece band! The compositions featured on his latest CD reflect the variety of his musical influences, ranging from African and Brazilian rhythms to jazz and pop influences to modern classical music. There are also bass arrangements of Mrs. Robinson, Bohemian Rhapsody, The Chicken, and Stevie Wonder’s “I Wish”.

For the 14 duets on this album, he invited some of the best musicians in Germany.
